Job Description

The person in this role will collaborate with our Product and Engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into interfaces that are easy to use, and consistent with the surrounding design and behavior.

The work product delivered needs to be world-class: robust, reliable, elegant, adaptable and seamless. The platform needs to be able to handle massive scale while monitoring, testing and evaluating approaches to drive revenue improvements. Succeeding in this role means delivering a product that is relied on by end users and supporting potentially billions in revenue for a flourishing publisher base who love working with Freestar.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Owning the development and maintenance of User Interface that is the front-line control of configuration for IP reaching 70% of the internet traffic in the US
  • Developing and promoting best practices in engineering, including scalability, reusability, maintainability, and security
  • Collaborating with team members to implement features and components as defined by the Product Team
  • Participating in the redesign of the next generation of User Interface for both client-facing and internal applications
  • Helping the team remain current on advances in modern technology stacks and run experiments to inform our product direction around site optimizations for ad placement
  • Contributing to the planning and scoping of new features
  • Maintaining test coverage by writing unit tests and working with QA team to understand and write to established definition of 'done' on all feature requests.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in JavaScript with a demonstrated proficiency in modern design principles and at least one modern UI framework (Angular, Vue, React)
  • At least 3 years of experience working on development teams shipping software products to market
  • Hands-on working experience with cloud technologies in large scale deployments (we're in AWS and GCP)
  • Working familiarity with using Docker and its role in the DevOps pipeline
  • Working familiarity with modern version control systems
  • Comfortable understanding of QA/QC processes; able to incorporate the right level of test driven development to improve software and data quality
  • Proven ability to communicate complex solutions to colleagues and business leaders
